Paris Hilton has revealed that she was sexually abused by staff members at the Provo Canyon school in Utah, alleging that they did "examinations" of the girls' bodies, especially the genitals.
"Very late at night, around 3 or 4 in the morning, they would take me and the other girls into the room and perform medical examinations," Hilton said.
She added that these "examinations" were not performed by doctors, but by various staff members, who forced the girls to lie on the table and penetrated them with their fingers.
Hilton seemed quite moved and, her voice shaking, said: “I don't know what they did, but ultimately, they weren't doctors. It was really scary and it's something I had blocked out for years, but now, it comes back all the time and I think about it. (Today), looking at it as an adult, it was definitely sexual abuse," she added.
"I cried, while they held me saying: "No! Shut up! Keep calm!'' Hilton said, underscoring that she is coming forward to heal and end the abuse.
Paris, 41, has spoken repeatedly about her time at the Utah school, which served as a "reformation" for her. Hilton was enrolled in the school by her parents Rick and Kathy, in order for their daughter to be disciplined, as she had a "rebellious nature". She stayed for 11 months in this school.
In 2020, the artist also published the documentary "This is Paris", in which she brought a clear picture of her troubled and traumatic youth at this school.
"I knew it was going to be worse than anywhere else. It was supposed to be a school, but (the classes) weren't in focus at all. From the moment I woke up until I went to bed, all day they were screaming in my face and shouting at me…constant torture”.
She said the students were forcibly medicated, punished and sometimes kept in isolation for 20 hours a day.
Three old friends of Paris, with whom she attended the school, approved her confessions of abuse.
The traumas of this experience consist of a dark period in her life, as she admits to having panic attacks and crying every day. "I was miserable. I felt like a prisoner and I hated life," she added.
Then, when Hilton left school at the age of 18, she refused to talk about the experience until recent years. “I was so grateful to be out, I didn't even want to bring it up again. It was something I was ashamed of and I didn't want to talk about it," she said.
