The BBC has announced that Europe's Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will be held in Liverpool after Britain was asked to host the event instead of Ukraine.
Ukraine won the right to host the competition after folk-rap group Kalush Orchestra was announced for this year's festival in May. Britain's Sam Ryder was second.

Organizers concluded it was too dangerous to hold the festival in Ukraine because of the war, so the 2023 competition went to Britain, which says the event will be a celebration of Ukrainian culture and creativity.
