The streets around Westminster were packed with people trying to catch something of the procession that started from Westminster Hall towards the church, where the funeral ceremony was held.
Almost 2,000 guests were inside the church, present for the ceremony, including members of the royal family and dozens of leaders and politicians from around the globe.
While the streets of Westminster were packed, the rest of London was quiet. Citizens stood in front of the TV so as not to miss a single moment of the historic event.
Big Ben changed its timing for a full 1 minute as the procession moved slowly through the streets of the capital. There were also gun salutes every minute from Hyde Park.
