A report by Physicians for Human Rights shows that the discontinuation of Pepfar programs in Tanzania and Uganda led to drug shortages, women giving birth to babies with HIV, and cases of life-threatening infections.

Doctors and patients reported that clinics were closed, supplies dwindled, and some women made painful decisions, including unwanted abortions, for fear that the medication would not be resumed.

The authors warn that without urgent action by the US Congress, decades of progress in the fight against HIV risk being lost.

South Korea tests 4-day weeks and half-time work for stressed workers
