Before Queen Elizabeth II's death on September 8, it was reported that Prince Harry went to Balmoral Castle, Scotland, to visit his grandmother without Meghan Markle. Unfortunately, his plane landed after the Queen passed away at the age of 96.
According to a new report from Entertainment Tonight, the Duchess of Sussex was not invited to join the royal family. "It's understood the family wanted Prince Harry to be there, even though he wasn't able to get to Balmoral in time to see his grandmother," royal expert Katie Nicholl said. "But Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was not, as we understand, invited to join the family. She has said she will go to Balmoral another time. But I think it is very significant that Prince Harry traveled to Balmoral alone without his wife."
These rumors are fueled even more by the strained relationship between the Harry-Meghan couple and the rest of the royal family. It should be noted, however, that Meghan wasn't the only one left behind. Kate Middleton stayed in Windsor while her husband traveled to Scotland.
In his first official address to the Commonwealth as king, Charles passed the former titles to Prince William and named Kate Middleton the first Princess of Wales since the late Princess Diana.
As for his second son and daughter-in-law, the king said: "I also want to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas."
As usual, the internet is divided over whether the king's words to Harry and Meghan were a blessing or a way to signal a break from the family.
