Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, "The Crown" creator Peter Morgan said the production currently preparing for season six "will pause filming as a mark of respect" for an unspecified period of time.
"The Crown is a love letter to him," Morgan said. "I have nothing to add for now, just silence and respect. I expect we will have to stop filming for an unspecified period of time."
According to Deadline, Morgan will not make a statement or comment further on the Queen's death.
"None of us know when that time [the Queen's death] will come, but it would be right and proper [to suspend filming] to show respect for the Queen. It would be a simple tribute and a sign of respect. She's a global figure and that's what we have to do," Stephen Daldry, a director of early episodes, said in 2016 when The Crown premiered and was asked what they would do if the queen switched life during the period when they were shooting.
Three actresses have played the late queen: Claire Foy, Olivia Colman and Imelda Staunton, who will take on the role in season 5 of The Crown.
The fifth season will premiere on Netflix this November.
