
The athlete Luiza Gega was announced on Saturday evening as the champion of Europe in the 3000 meters steeplechase race, organized by Munich.
From the first meter to the last, Gega dominated the race and managed to win with a time of 9:11.31, taking the gold medal and climbing Albania to the top of Europe; an extraordinary achievement for her and her coach, Taulant Stërmasi.

At the end of July, Gega placed 5th in the final of the World Athletics Championships. The previous record in this discipline was held by her with a time of 9:14.29 and was set on July 1 at the Mediterranean Games, Oran 2022.
Luiza, the record-breaking girl who started playing sports at the age of 14, was the flag bearer for Tokyo 2020 along with Briken Caljan. She also carried the flag in Rio 2016.
