The battle against Covid-19: North Korea declares victory!
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has declared victory in the battle against the new coronavirus, ordering the lifting of measures put in place in May to contain the pandemic.
North Korea has not disclosed the number of infected people, but has not reported any new suspected cases since July 29. Despite the lifting of anti-pandemic measures, Kim said North Korea must maintain a strong anti-epidemic barrier and intensify anti-epidemic work until the end of the global health crisis.
According to observers, this could pave the way for North Korea to conduct a nuclear weapons test for the first time since 2017.
Silvio Berlusconi returns to politics after a 9-year hiatus
Former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi has declared that he will run again for a seat in the senate, in next month's elections.
He announced that he will try to return to public office after nine years. Berlusconi launched a marketing campaign ahead of the announcement, telling state radio that "masses of people" from within the Forza Italia movement and beyond had asked him to run in the September 25 election.
Big screens in metro stations across the country show a younger version of Berlusconi with the message "Now more than ever - choose a side". The former Italian leader has led four governments since entering politics in 1994, but was temporarily banned from holding public office following a 2013 conviction for tax fraud.
