Pete Davidson and plans to become a father: 'This is what I'm preparing for now'

Pete Davidson's dream role? Being a father.

In a promo shoot for "Hart to Heart," a podcast hosted by comedian Kevin Hart that premieres Friday, July 15, Davidson discussed the idea of ??becoming a father.

The clip begins with the 28-year-old comedian talking about his childhood following the death of his father, a firefighter who died on September 11, 2001.

"Father died early. Single mom. Young sister,” said the former Saturday Night Live star. "I just didn't handle it well. It was like a nightmare.”

Although growing up was difficult, Davidson says his family supported his career in stand-up comedy.

Davidson, who has been dating Kim Kardashian since fall 2021, also said:

"My favorite thing, which I have not yet achieved - is that I want to have a child. This is, like, my dream. It would be so much fun. I'm really excited about that chapter. That's something I'm preparing for right now, just trying to be a good guy and develop and get better, so when that happens, it's all easier."
