From a "joke" on TikTok, the news that Zendaya was pregnant ended up on Twitter, becoming one of the most searched hashtags of the day.
"You see ... That's why I stay away from Twitter. They just invent things for no reason, every week," she wrote on Instagram.
In another post, the actress said she "is now returning to filming" as a way of saying "there is no time to deal with 'trolls' online".
At the moment, Zendaya, * not pregnant *, is shooting for "Challengers", a romantic, sports and drama film written by Justin Kuritzkes and directed by Luca Guadagnino.
