Will we again have a trial similar to the one we left behind days ago? Maybe. Johnny Depp could sue Amber Heard again after her recent interview, a legal expert has suggested.
In the interview for "Today", which will be published in full in the coming days, Amber Heard was asked by presenter Savannah Guthrie: "He said he never hit you. Is this a lie?"
Heard replied, "Yes, it is."
This statement could be used for another lawsuit by Depp, according to attorney Nicole Haff. Asked if Depp could sue him again for the interview, Haff told MailOnline: "Yes. This interview could count as a new 'publication' under the law, which could spur a third lawsuit."
However she adds that a third lawsuit may not be worth it to Depp because Heard's lawyers have stated she can not pay the first indemnity.
A Heard spokesman told the media that she participated in the interview to state her point of view and to unbalance the media coverage of the issue.
"Johnny Depp's legal team was in the media for days after the decision with numerous statements and interviews on television and Depp himself did the same on social media. Mrs. Heard simply intended to respond to what they aggressively did last week; she did it by expressing her thoughts and feelings. "
