'Red light… greenlight!' Officially, 'Squid Game'

Netflix is ??known for the fact that it never leaves successful productions without a second season, a third and so on, so it was predictable that the "Squid Game" phenomenon would return with a second season.

"Squid Game" became the series that garnered the most views on Netflix when it was released in September. Finally, the platform officially announced the second season.

Screenwriter and director Hwang Dong-hyuk teased some details about the second season of the show in a message posted by Netflix.

The characters Seong Gi-hun and Front Man will be back, he said, and "the man in the ddakji costume can be back," referring to the mysterious character played by actor Gong Yoo.

"You will also be introduced to Young-hee's boyfriend, Cheol," he added. Young-hee is the robot in "Red Light, Green Light".

Netflix did not say when the new season would be released, but Hwang has previously said that maybe in 2023 or 2024.
