Jennifer Lopez was disappointed by the American National Football League (NFL) after it was announced that she and Shakira would only have 12 minutes for the 2020 Super Bowl Halftine Show.
During a tense moment in her upcoming Netflix documentary, " Halftime " (via E! Online), singer and music director Kim Burse discusses how to plan her performance and share the stage with Shakira. "We have to have our singing moments," she insists. "It's not going to be a pop dance show. We have to sing our message."
In another scene, Shakira expresses Jennifer concern for the time, noting that NFL organizers want their respective songs to be “intertwined” in performance. For this, Jennifer says they will share the 12 minutes equally, but adds, "If it was a show with two headlines, they should have given us 20 minutes. That's what they should have done. . ”
J.Lo's manager, Benny Medina, has the same disappointments about the decision, explaining in a separate interview that he felt the decision limited the performance abilities of both singers. "Usually, there is a headliner in the Super Bowl," he said. "That headline builds a show and if he wants, he chooses to have other guests, that's their choice. It was an insult to be told that it took two Latins to do the work that historically only one artist has done."
In 2020, at the most watched American football event, Shakira and J.Lo electrified the stage through popular hits, ballerina dances, bally dance, pole dancing and more. The whole atmosphere was considered extraordinary because J.Lo and Shakira sang 20 songs in just 12 minutes, but apparently, there was a lot of disappointment and disagreement behind the scenes.
" Halftime " will air on Netflix on June 14.
