Bob Mackie, the designer who created the dress once worn by Marilyn Monroe, joins the minds of those who say it was "a stupid mistake" that Kim Kardashian wore to the Met Gala event.
Early in his career, Mackie was the artist who designed sketches, and one of his works was exactly the dress that Monroe wore when she sang "Happy Birthday, Mr. President," dedicated to John F. Kennedy in 1962.
"I think it's a big mistake!" Mackie said in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. Monroe was a goddess! A crazy goddess, but she remained a goddess. Her figure was simply gorgeous. No one looks like her. It was a dress made especially for her. Sketched and designed for her shapes and no one else should have appeared wearing that dress.
Kardashian wore the famous dress to fit the theme of the Met Gala 2022, the idea of ??which was to reflect the Golden Age of America. Though kept dressed for only a few minutes on the red carpet and then replaced it with an identical copy of the dress, many were against her choice.
Monroe biographers, a few days after the event said sweat, perfume and make-up could have damaged the dress.
"The dress is extremely fragile and has previously been kept in temperature-controlled conditions," said biographer Michelle Morgan. "But now he is here, not only dressed, but also in a red carpet environment, where anything could have happened to him."
