After welcoming their first daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, in January, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra shared the first photo of their daughter on their respective Instagram accounts on Mother's Day, May 8th. But this is not the only thing the couple shared.
Chopra and Jonas write that the first months of Malta's life included "100 days plus" at NICU * in San Diego and then in Los Angeles.
* NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, intensive care unit for sick babies.
"On this Mother's Day, we can not help but reflect on the last few months and the path we have been on, which we now know, many people have experienced as well. After 100 days at NICU, our little girl in the end is at home ", wrote the couple.
Nick and Pryanka added:
"Every family's journey is unique and requires a certain level of trust, and while ours has been challenging for months, what becomes very clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect each moment is. We are rejoicing that our little girl is finally home and we just want to thank every doctor, nurse and specialist at Rady Children's La Jolla and Cedar Sinai, Los Angeles, who were there selflessly at every turn of the road. The next one starts now, and our baby is a really strong girl! Mom and Dad love you! ”
The couple confirmed in January that they welcomed a child through a surrogate mother. However, since then, Jonas and Chopra have not told much about their daughter. They also did not mention the reason for her stay at NICU.
In his inscription, Jonas also dedicated a writing to the woman.
"Honey, you inspire me. You are taking on this new role with such ease and consistency. I'm thankful I'm on this journey with you. You are already an incredible mother. Happy Mother's Day. Love you!"
Chopra also added:
"There is no one with whom I would rather do all this than with you. Thanks for making me a mom. Love you!"
