It is rare for a woman to be unaware of pregnancy, but not impossible. A girl in her 20s went to the Polyvalent Emergency Department of the University Hospital Center "Mother Teresa" because she had abdominal pain, but it turned out that she was pregnant.
According to Nurses Association sources, the young woman had stated that she had severe abdominal pain and bloating, had rushed to the emergency room and had gone to the emergency toilet. A few minutes later, she gave birth to the baby in the toilet.
The Nurses Association announces that after the help given there, she and the baby were escorted to the operating room where further treatment was given. The mother and baby were transported to the maternity ward.
According to sources, the doctors were surprised after the mother stated that she was not aware of a pregnancy.
This is not the first case of births without being aware of the pregnancy. Doctors in Albania and in the world have encountered such cases, more rare, but not impossible. In 2018, a woman from Durrës had a stomach ache and asked for immediate help. After the doctors' examination, it turned out that she was pregnant and ready to give birth.
