The hacker group Anonymous has launched an attack on the Central Bank of Russia.
In a Twitter post, an account representing the group said it would release 35,000 files in 48 hours.
The account has not yet provided evidence that it had successfully undertaken the hacking, or that it had access to the promised documents.
The Russian Central Bank did not respond to a request for comment by The Independent prior to publication.
The hacker group has attacked many other Russian organizations as part of a solidarity campaign in support of Ukraine following the February 24 invasion of the country.
Other targets include a Russian nuclear power company, television stations, websites and even printers.
Anonymous also claimed to have eavesdropped on Russian military radio. The hacker group has so far claimed responsibility for 2,500 attacks on "Russian and Belarusian governments, state media, banks, hospitals, airports and several companies".
