Beyonce opened the 94th Academy Awards with a stunning performance of "Be Alive," a song that evokes the strength and pride of people of color. The song was nominated in the category "Best Original Song" and appears in the well-known movie "King Richard".
Beyoncé wore a neon yellow dress (like the color of a tennis ball). Instead of performing at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles where the ceremony takes place, the singer chose as a stage a tennis court in Compton, California, where sisters Venus and Serena Williams trained with her father Richard decades ago.
This marks the first time in five years that Beyonce is back to perform at an awards show. In addition to the ballerinas, the singer's eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, appeared next to her mother.
The film "King Richard" tells the story of famous tennis players Venus and Serena Williams and their father, Richard Williams. Richard, in a 78-page plan, manifests how his two children (then still unborn) would become famous tennis players and challenges all the expectations of others.
