Every year for the past decade, the World Happiness Report lists how people in more than 150 countries value their quality of life to find the happiest places in the world. For the last four years, Finland has taken first place. Today, the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, which publishes the report together with Gallup World Poll, announced that the Nordic country tops the list again.
Generosity, perception of compassion, freedom to make choices, social support and longevity are some of the factors that are valued when determining ranking.
Finland was named the happiest country in the world with a score of 7,821 out of 10, ahead of Denmark (7,636) and Iceland (7,557), which rank second and third respectively.
Albania ranks 90th out of 146 in total, an increase of 3 countries compared to the period 2018-2020. It seems that Albania does not have any extraordinary increase in the ranking, compared to other Balkan countries such as Romania and Serbia, which rank in 28th and 43rd place, respectively. Kosovo is ranked 32nd, while Northern Macedonia is ranked number one ahead of Albania (89).
