In a direct speech to Western leaders this morning, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia's "war machine" would be aimed at them if they did not stop it.
Zelenskyy thanked countries that have "maintained a moral stance" against Russia for its occupation of Ukraine, in particular UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson "for his leadership".
"We can stop Russia. We can stop killing people. It will be easier to do it together, stop the destruction of democracy and stop it now on our land. "Otherwise they will come to you." - he said.
"Every blow against Ukraine is a step that Russia is taking to destroy itself," Zelenskyy said in another speech.
A few days ago, responding to a journalist, the Russian representative said that Russia is not planning to attack other countries and that his country "did not attack Ukraine either." Sergei Lavrov reiterated Moscow's claims that Russia is seeking to liberate Ukraine from the "Nazis". He said Putin would not refuse a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to discuss "specific" issues.
