
Russia's Defense Ministry has claimed responsibility for a rocket attack on the International Center for Peace and Security on Sunday, a military base near the Polish border. The death toll from the attack went up to 35 people. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson called Russia's actions barbaric. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken condemned the attack, saying the brutality must be stopped.
Russia has demanded military equipment from China since the beginning of the occupation, the Financial Times reports. The demand has sparked fears in the White House that Beijing could help Russia and undermine Western efforts in Ukraine. A spokesman for the Chinese embassy said they had not heard of the request and that "the current situation in Ukraine is really worrying."

· A pregnant woman and her baby have died after Russia bombed the maternity ward where she was to give birth, reports the Associated Press. Images of the woman being sent on a stretcher to the emergency room were published worldwide.
Instagram was shut down in Russia after parent company Meta Platforms said last week it would allow social media users in Ukraine to post messages such as "Death to Russian invaders." An email from the state communications regulator told people to move their photos and videos from Instagram before it closed and encouraged them to switch to Russia's "competing platforms".
