France/ The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games begins
Yesterday (July 26, 2024), the ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris began. The ceremony started with a video showing the football legend, Zinedine Zidane, running through Paris to hand over the Olympic flame.
Along with the organization of the spectacular event, measures have been taken to provide protection in every part of Paris, as there has been a lot of fear of terrorist attacks and this is the first time that the ceremony will be held in an open place. Almost 7,000 athletes traveled across the Seine River to start the grand ceremony.
Trump to publish his book "Save America"
We will also see Donald Trump as a writer, as he will publish his book on September 3, 2024. The book brings Trump's perspective on his four years as US president and will be titled "Save America". The cover is thought to be a picture of him getting up, after the assassination attempt, with blood running down his face.
Trump is again running for the presidency of the USA, in a race where candidate Joe Biden withdrew a few days ago, leaving the baton to Vice President Kamala Harris.
Azerbaijan threatens Armenia
Azerbaijan has threatened Armenia with large-scale military action, following "provocations" it says Armenia has made along the border of the states. According to the Ministry of Defense in Azerbaijan, the Armenian army has used heavy weapons and reconnaissance drones on the border.
The ministry added that Armenia and its supporters should refrain from creating a new hotbed of war. "If these provocative actions are not stopped, appropriate steps will be taken, using the entire arsenal of the armed forces of Azerbaijan, for self-defense purposes," the ministry said.
California/ Fire forces 4,000 people to evacuate
A huge fire broke out in California, killing 2 people and forcing 4,000 others to evacuate their homes. This is considered to be the biggest fire for this year and has burned thousands of hectares of land, threatening homes as well. The fire spread rapidly and the situation got out of control.
Allegedly, it all started after a man pushed a burning car into a ditch. The car slid down and burst into flames, burning an entire park. The man quietly left, mingling with the crowd, although he started one of the fires that is progressing very rapidly. Further, he was arrested by the police and a decision will be taken after full investigations.
