Thousands of Ukrainian citizens have taken up arms and volunteered to fight the Russian attack in the country.
Despite the panic and uncertainty the situation offers, citizens are determined to show resistance and have chosen to act immediately.
Meanwhile, just as the EU warned it implemented sanctions on Russian leader and minister Sergei Lavrov, freezing their assets.
According to the BBC, the sanctions do not yet include a travel ban on two of the Russian state's most important figures.
Great Britain has also suggested it will make a similar move, but without giving specifics as to when this will happen.
