Rosemary is a culinary and healing herb. This perennial plant is extremely widespread in the Mediterranean region, where it has been used as food and medicine for centuries.
Like oregano, mint and cinnamon, rosemary is often found in the form of essential oil. Essential oils are extracts that for cooking, cleansing, beauty, health and other purposes.
In recent years, there have been claims that the oil can be excellent for hair growth. Some say it can even prevent hair loss. The idea that rosemary oil encourages hair growth may be related to the health benefits of rosemary. The plant in the form of essential oil is said to:
- has anti-inflammatory properties
- stimulates nerve growth
- improves blood circulation
In addition to stimulating hair growth, rosemary essential oil is used to prevent premature graying and dandruff. It can also help with dryness or itching of the scalp.
How to use it?
Take about 5 drops of essential oil and massage. Mix it with an oil (like jojoba oil or coconut oil). Rinsing the oil afterwards is optional - although if you rinse it off, leave it on the skin for at least 5 to 10 minutes beforehand.
