Russian authorities have arrested around 30 people in the center of the capital, after they took part in a protest against military mobilization with the aim of fighting in Ukraine.

Wives of Russian soldiers fighting in Ukraine organized a picket line near the Kremlin wall in a peaceful rally. According to sources, most of those arrested were journalists, but later, some of them were released.

Yang Hengjun, the Chinese-Australian writer, has been sentenced to death in China on espionage charges. Five years ago, the writer was accused of such a serious crime in China.

Yang was an Australian citizen and his death sentence was unbelievable to the Australian government. Yang, 58, was arrested in 2019 at the airport when he arrived in the southern city of Guangzhou with his wife from New York to see family in China. Afterwards, he was accused of espionage, but denied the charges. Yang's case has been shrouded in secrecy. Chinese authorities have not provided details on his charges, including the country he was accused of spying for.

Israel has destroyed most of Hamas, exactly 17 out of 24 battalions, the country's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has said, adding that there are still some left in the south of Gaza, in the Rafah area.

In a meeting with his cabinet, Netanyahu said that Israeli forces will face the situation in southern Gaza in order to win the war.

Meanwhile, the situation in Rafah is very difficult and the Palestinians are sinking deeper and deeper into a humanitarian crisis.
