You probably know that the longest living people in the world are the Japanese. The average life expectancy in Switzerland is 83.4 while in Japan it is 84.3. However, the ultimate goal is not long life, but a well-lived and healthy life.
The Japanese have their "secrets" to doing this and you need to start taking notes:
1. The less, the better
We are talking about food portions. You have to understand that "many times by little" is better than a big plate that will make you feel bloated. Small portions will keep you away from overeating and as a result away from excess pounds.
2. Eat until you feel 80% full
It is not recommended to eat fast as it takes at least 20 minutes from the time you start eating for the brain to send signals to the stomach. The Japanese know this and use a simple rule: eat until they feel 80% full or in other words eat 8 out of 10 tablespoons of food.
3. Use a teaspoon of olive oil and only 0.9 grams of salt
It is recommended to reduce the amount of salt to 0.9 grams per day and not to share a teaspoon of olive oil when cooking.
4. They prefer to walk rather than exercise.
They are active all the time, but their favorite activity is walking. In doing so they combine keeping the body in shape and emotional satisfaction at the same time. By walking, they can talk, they can meet new people and at the same time, they can exercise.
5. Long steam showers and essential oils
Long baths are very important for their health and not only! The Japanese use essential oils that help soften and relax the skin. Be careful not to overdo the measure of staying in the shower, but enjoy the time there and meditate.
