"Nothing compares 2 you" singer Sinead O'Connor, has lost her son at the age of 17. The tragic news, Sinead has confirmed himself through a heartbreaking post on Twitter.
"My beautiful son, Shane O'Connor, the light of my life decided to end his challenges early and today he is with God. I wish him rest in peace and that no one follows his example," she wrote.
The teenager was missing for 2 days and after the police search he was found dead.
During the search, the singer posted on her Twitter account the photo of the 17-year-old next to her photo in the description: "Shane, your life is precious. God did not put that smile on your face for nothing. My world wants "to be destroyed without you. Please do not hurt yourself, let 's go to the hospital!"
Authorities have been concerned for days about the mental health of the boy who was in hospital before losing track and ending his life.
The late teenager was the son of Sinead and musician Donal Lunny, 74, with whom the singer split shortly after his birth.
