Everything happens in our lives affects the reactions we give and the decisions we make. After a relationship or a controlling partner, a man is afraid to be involved again in a serious report, thinking that past experience will repeat itself.
A bad relationship may have created him a bad image for women, making him think that they are all like his ex-partner, etc., etc. Ideas that are certainly not true. All you can do is tell him you're different and what happened to him doesn't have to happen to him again.

This scares men. The fact that you go out with each other and everything goes well, doesn't mean expressing yourselves immediately for the next step. Maybe he wants something more, but not now. Enjoy freedom and give it the necessary space.
