Prime Minister Edi Rama warned that there may be tightening of anti-Covid measures due to the spread of the Omicron variant.
The Prime Minister did not mention the total closure of the country, but said that additional measures are needed "without tightening the chain of the economy".
"Today we are in the conditions where we have to prepare for a new wave, from the new version of Covid that is closing other countries. We will not hurry, we just need to know that we can not pass it as if nothing is happening. "Maybe some measures should be taken, without tightening the chain of life and economy."
Rama announced that the infectious hospital will be rebuilt from the ground up. The situation of Covid-19 is presented as follows according to the Ministry of Health:
