
Netanyahu vows to return all Israeli troops, dead or alive

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's prime minister, said he is committed to returning the hostages kidnapped by Hamas on October 7, 2023, dead or alive. His announcement comes after Israeli forces found the bodies of three kidnapped hostages yesterday.
The Prime Minister expressed that he was sad for the families of the deceased: "My wife, Sarah, and I are sad with the families. We will return all hostages, living and dead. I congratulate our brave forces, who brought home our sons and daughters", he said.
Texas/ Powerful storms cause casualties

Furious storms in Texas have caused 4 deaths, as well as cut off electricity for about 1 million homes and businesses. The storms, with winds of 100 mph, have been compared to Hurricane Ike and caused much damage downtown.
Two of the deaths were caused by fallen trees. In the Houston area, traffic lights are out, residents are being warned to stay indoors, and the National Weather Service says the storms will continue into the evening.
Chile/ The country faces the worst cold in the last 70 years

Chile is facing the most intense cold in the last 7 decades, which is caused by winter weather. "Since 1950, that is, in the last 74 years, we have not had such a cold and intense wave as this May, so we are on the verge of the longest autumn cold wave that has not been recorded in the capital, at least since from 1950", said a climatologist.
The Meteorological Institute predicted on Thursday a minimum temperature of 1 degree Celsius in the central region of Santiago. The sudden change in climate occurred shortly after the end of the summer heat.
The US says the port in Gaza has been put into operation

The US reported that truckloads of humanitarian aid have passed through the makeshift port in Gaza for the first time. The new port was built by the US in the besieged territory, as Israel has limited aid crossings from land borders.
US military officials said up to 150 aid trucks are expected to arrive as Israel continues its battle in Rafah to destroy Hamas. The US stressed that the port project cannot be considered a substitute for aid coming from land borders.
