European countries are probably not so popular for being friendly with foreigners , but that does not apply to quality of life.
InterNations - the largest global network of migrants - has created an Expat Insider guidance platform . They have talked to immigrants around the world to find out more about their livelihood. In a report of 59 countries, Expat Insider 2021 reveals the best European countries for quality of life.
Seven of the top ten destinations in the quality of life index were in Europe.
In first place was Taiwan, followed by Austria (which ranked 28th in terms of personal happiness category). However, Austria ranked second in the travel and transport category and fifth in the environment section.
95% of respondents from Austria were satisfied with travel opportunities (compared to 84% globally), while 82% consider healthcare affordable (compared to 61% globally).
Portugal was ranked third, while it tops all European countries when it comes to countries where residents are friendly with foreigners. 96% describe Portugal as "peaceful".
