The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, in her last speech in the Assembly reiterated the importance of the vaccine for the unvaccinated, announced that persons over 18 years of age can receive the third dose of the vaccine and pointed out that the vast majority of hospitalized hospitals are unvaccinated.
"While the measures to be taken are being evaluated, as well as the shock force of a potential new wave due to the Omicron variant, certainly in accordance with the WHO recommendations not to go to drastic restrictions, all experts, anywhere in the world "They recommend the only protection the world has: the vaccine," she said.
Regarding misinformation and false news, the minister said, "As always, the truths, especially when it comes to science, are found in the figures. A figure tells us that 94% of patients admitted to the infectious disease hospital are unvaccinated! ”
She also focused on vaccination in the municipalities in the country.
"In Albania, 47% is vaccine coverage with at least one dose for the target population over 16 years old. I am referring here to the figures for the group we intend to vaccinate because I would like to give here another information that is just as important, from today every citizen +18 years old can get the third dose of the vaccine if 6 months have passed from application of the second dose. "25 municipalities have a vaccination coverage of over 50%, such as Tirana, which is showing a good vaccination rate in recent times, as well as Fieri, Lushnja, Gjirokastra, Puka, Tropoja and Mirdita."
Regarding the following measures, Manastirliu said that “time and the epidemiological situation will dictate the following measures, which will undoubtedly be re-evaluated, reviewed, guided, as we have done since the beginning of this pandemic, by 1 and only 1 interest: the health and life of our citizens ”.
