A good portion of us have grown up with crowds during their lifetime. Starting from populated beaches, football teams, volleyball, movies, etc., etc. Most of the time being surrounded by other people, who share the same emotion with you, is fun because good energy becomes contagious from enthusiasm, but as we can see there are other cases when tragic events have made us see the "crowd" as a danger.
Organizations such as the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) suggest that people and methods for their safety and the reduction of dangerous situations should be present to protect people and manage them in crowds.
Perception of risk is personal
From the observations made on different crowds of people such a conclusion has been reached. Something that is considered a danger to one is not called a danger to another. If large and unexpected crowds of people create panic, it turned out that in the present case the people present said they felt safe and trusted each other in an emergency. Social identification with the crowd was what made them feel confident that they would have the help of the people who were there in an unexpected situation.
Crowds are generally managed by well-thought-out security strategies. However their controllers need to consider the dynamics that can be created because people tend to respond depending on how they are treated.
Crowds are part of a collective experience, which when properly managed positively impact society. Group work, various organizations, etc., bring a pleasant atmosphere as long as everyone knows how to maintain balance.
