Madonna is being criticized by people, according to whom she has recreated the scene of Marilyn Monroe's death.
The pop star is seen posing in positions similar to Monroe's last photo set, "The Last Sitting" (1962) by photographer Bert Stern six weeks before Monroe passed away. In the photos for V Magazine, Madonna wears rings similar to Marilyn style and is lying on a bed, next to which are some prescription pills, according to Page Six.
Monroe died at the age of 36 from an overdose of prescription pills. She was found dead in the bedroom the next morning on August 4, 1962.

Madonna is known for her admiration for Monroe. In the 1984 music video for "Material Girl" she was influenced by Monroe's performances of "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend" and "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes".
