"Unvaccinated students will not be allowed to attend classes and the vaccination campaign belongs to the authorities because the government can not send forces to stop or expel students," said Prime Minister Edi Rama in an interview with the show. Now ”with Erla Mëhilli in Euronews Albania.
Rama said that the universities are autonomous, which means that it belongs to them, but also to the Ministry of Education, to encourage students to be vaccinated. "Those who have been vaccinated deserve to stay in a safe environment," Rama said.
Asked what is the difference between auditoriums and cafes where the vaccine is not required, the prime minister said that "one does not go to auditoriums or anywhere as in the lottery with life."
"The idea in the stadium was that only vaccinated people should be allowed in," he added, adding that he did not know if the rule had been applied.
Mëhilli told the Prime Minister that Albania started the vaccination process as one of the first countries in Europe and today is the penultimate in Europe. According to Rama, the pace of vaccination has decreased not because there are no vaccines, but because "we are in a situation where a part of society has fallen into the inertia of general relaxation" and called it unjustifiable.
