Kathy Campbell, pharmacist, says "nothing is more critical to a healthy life than a well-functioning immune system." According to her, supplements, in addition to a healthy diet, good sleep, etc., can be a very effective supplement in supporting a healthy immune system.
You should talk to a doctor and perhaps have the appropriate tests done to see which vitamins or other elements you are lacking, however Campbell suggests the following:
1. High quality multivitamin
It is important to ensure a balance of all nutrients in an effort to minimize excess supplementation with a single nutrient.
2. Vitamin C
Vitamin C is an essential nutrient, which can not be synthesized by humans and therefore should be consumed with diet or supplements. Function is key in many biochemical processes within the immune system.
3. Vitamin D3
Vitamin D may already be high, especially if you have done enough beach, but if you are taking it as a supplement, it is suggested to use it along with vitamin K for greater impact. Vitamin D has many roles in the body and can help support immune health
4. Zinc
Optimal zinc levels help support a healthy immune system, but you need to be careful not to overdo it.
