Everyone was talking about Billie when she posted the first photos with her platinum blonde hair in March, but the reason for her dramatic change had to do with "anonymity".
Before she was blonde, the singer had a hair color with which she could be easily identified: Black hair with bright green roots.
In an interview with Ellen, she says that "without an edit of the blonde herself, she liked it a lot and thought of doing so." But now, about four months later, Billie discovers that "she could not go anywhere with green hair because everyone would know it was her."
"I wanted anonymity. When I came out after I became blonde and took off my hood, I felt like a new person," she tells Elle, adding that "with blonde hair, a new sense of freedom came."
As for the specific reason why he chose platinum, the answer does not differ much from the first one. However, once the singer reposts a photo / video from the green hair era, people are ready to comment:
"I miss this Billie", "I miss the green-haired Billie stage" etc - to which she responds with "I'm still the same person, as with green roots, as blonde or another color".
As for green hair, there is a reason why it has kept them for so long and has even inspired many teenagers to do the same.
"I've been wearing this color for so long, since I was 13 and it relates to my mental stamina and growth, so leave me alone."
