What you need to know before making fillers under the eyes!

What you need to know before making fillers under the eyes!

The filler in the area around the eyes is used to replenish the volume that is usually lost over the years, to regenerate dark circles and to give the face a fresher look overall. When it comes to eye circles, the issue is also genetic, so this procedure can be done by a 70-year-old or someone who is 20 years old. Under eye fillers are one of the most popular treatments lately and the procedure is done within a day. Dermatologist Chaneve Jeanniton says that within a day there may be 6-10 patients coming just for this procedure.

Below, find answers to all the questions you may have:

- What you need to know about fillers under the eyes?

Under-eye fillers are not one of the FDA-approved areas to be injected, so when doctors place a product in this area it is called "off-label use". However, many doctors perform the procedure normally. Having said that, it is important to turn to someone who really understands the anatomy of the eye area, as there is an increased risk of complications, as it is a delicate area.

- Who are the best "candidates" for fillers under the eyes?

There are many types of problems: Dark circles, hyperpigmentation, etc., but it is not suggested for swollen circles (bags), extra skin in the area under the eyes, etc. To see what is the right treatment for your case, you should consult your doctor for a consultation.

- How does the filler under the eyes feel when injected?

There are two main ways to insert the filler under the eye: with a needle and with a cannula, which is a longer microtube, with the tip open, flexible, and able to cover more surface area from a single entry point. It usually depends on the injector preferences. Dr. Jeanniton prefers the latter.

"I like the cannula because it allows me to have a real sense of what plan exactly you are placing the filler on, and in the area under the eyes, more than anywhere else on the face, that's so important to me."

When using a cannula for the filler under the eye, most doctors go through the cheek and up to the area under the eye.

Regardless of what your doctor uses, it is worth noting that the procedure is not painful, but can cause some bruising and swelling until the next day.

- A friend told me that I will not look "natural" if I use fillers. It's true?

No, and moreover, in case you do not like the result, the product will disintegrate over time. You need to get rid of the idea that any cosmetic procedure = fake. The fact that many people hide these procedures clearly shows the judgment we have against them. You will remain just as "real" and "natural" even if you inject hyaluronic acid!
