"In America: A Vocabulary of Fashion" was the theme that gathered celebrities on the red carpet at the Met Gala 2021. Contemporary designers will focus on the influence of previous generations.
"We very much wanted this to be a celebration of the American fashion community, which suffered so much during the pandemic," Andrew Bolton, curator at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, told the New York Times. "I think American fashion is going through a renaissance, with young American stylists in the midst of discussions about diversity, inclusion, sustainability and conscious creativity. I find it very exciting. "
