Surprisingly, while Kim Kardashian still bears the surname West on Instagram, even though months have passed since the divorce petition, Kanye West on the other hand presents a legal document to change the name.
TMZ has secured the document presented in a court in Los Angeles, where the rapper asks Kanye Omari West to be simply called "Ye".
The document states that if "there is no evidence that the name change was made for fraud or other crimes", the judge may approve it.
It seems a strange decision by Kanye to use his nickname as a name for a long time. In addition, ironically, his least liked album is the one of 2018, entitled "Ye".
But, Kanye is Kanye. In November 2019, he told Yeezy designer Steven Smith that if he wanted to, he could change his name to Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West for a year.
Ok, better Ye.
