Another gold medal for Kosovo in the Olympic Games: Triumph Nora Gjakova

Nora Gjakova is the third judoka from Kosovo to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games, the second in this Olympics and the third for Kosovo since her debut in 2016.

Nora defeated her opponent Sarah Leonie Cysique in the 57 kg category. On the way to the final, Gjakova also defeated the Japanese Tsukasa Yoshida, the former world champion.

The medal is the second for this Olympics, after the victory of Distria Krasniqi in the 48 kg category. Nora's brother, Akil Gjakova, also competed in the Olympic judo competition in the men's lightweight category, but lost in the quarterfinals. All Kosovo judokas, representatives in the Olympic Games, have been trained by Driton Kuka, who has also trained Majlinda Kelmendi and Distria Krasniqi, both Olympic champions.
