Unlike the previous days, the last 24 hours have marked a significant increase in the number of people infected with Covid-19. In the official announcement, it was announced that today out of 3526 tests performed in total, 43 people have tested positive.
Meanwhile, only 11 were affected yesterday, but fortunately there were no casualties. There are currently 198 active people with coronavirus across the country, but what worries experts is the significant increase in infections. The Ministry of Health calls on people to be vaccinated and to respect the measures against Covid-19 as well as the most threatening variant at the moment, that of Delta.
Although so far there is no confirmed case with Delta, authorities have found unusual signals.
"The Ministry of Health and Social Protection appeals to citizens to be vaccinated to protect themselves from Covid-19, in every health center and vaccination point anywhere in the country. Use the open vaccination days until Sunday, to be vaccinated without restriction, if you are over 18 years old.
Fortunately, studies have shown that vaccines offer good protection against the Delta variant as well, although another key factor may determine whether or not you become infected with the virus. This also applies to vaccinated people.
Speaking on CBC's "Face the Nation," Scott Gottlieb, a U.S. physician and investor who served as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) commissioner for 2017-2019, said what could really determine whether get infected or with the Delta variant: masks.
