The latest haute couture collection by Valentino, under the artistic direction of designer Pierpaolo Piccioli, was a dedication to the city of Venice, his favorite city.
The collection was presented at Gaggiandre, in what is known as Arsenale di Venezia and seems to represent a balance between two-dimensional art of painting and three-dimensional art of the fashion world.
In recent years, Valentino has conveyed a more youthful and modern feel. Piccioli’s colors and creations have managed to grab the attention of a young audience, who are not afraid to experiment with strong shades.
For the Fall / Winter 2021 haute couture collection, the designer invited 17 different artists to collaborate and the bold and voluminous forms were what dominated the collection.
