The US government's long-awaited UFO * report was released on Friday, but for those seeking confirmation that Earth is being visited by alien intelligence, the report did not provide much evidence.
UFO - Unidentified Flying Object
In just nine pages, the report - called Preliminary Assessment: Identified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) - was released by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and described the U.S. military's contacts with strange objects in the sky.
As expected, the report did not mention the aliens - although it did not reject their idea either - and warned of a possible threat to national security from the phenomenon.
Here are some of the key issues in the report:
They are real - whatever "they" are
Whatever the US military is facing seems to be real objects - in at least some of the reported incidents.
They are a threat
The U.S. military is deeply concerned that meetings with UAP are a national security risk, especially if they represent a hitherto unknown technology in use by rival states.
They are advanced
The report describes strange VAP movements. "Some UAPs appeared to be stationary in the wind, moving against the wind, maneuvering suddenly or moving at considerable speeds, without distinct means of propulsion."
No aliens are mentioned

One of the videos showed an incident in 2004 where Navy pilots encountered a 40-foot-long object that stood about 50 feet above the water, according to the New York Times; the other two videos belong to 2015 and show strange objects in the air.
