The need to be approved by others is as ancient as humanity itself. We all have our insecurities and it is impossible for man as a being to live and develop without getting the "approval" of others. Although it is a natural requirement, at high levels, the need for approval becomes a concern. How can we minimize this?
1. Take a short break from social media
Posting photos on social media is a way to self-approve. Every post is meant to attract attention, as it has no practical value. It takes you a long time to find the perfect angle, pose, light, etc. and for what? To feel wanted and liked even by people you do not know at all. What if you try to make sense of privacy? What if you were completely disconnected from the virtual world for a while? Do this to enjoy time with your people, without seeking approval from the outside world.
2. Do not compare yourself with others
We have all fallen prey to this trap, but do not. In fact there are many theories that say that the human being is prone to comparison, as he is always looking for the best. Of course this too is healthy to some extent as it enables development, but others should not be our concern.
By comparing them, we lose ourselves as we unknowingly plunge into a vicious circle that makes you feel depressed and worthless. You no longer enjoy any moment and any achievement seems futile. Work on your insecurities and rely only on yourself.
3. Do things diligently and enthusiastically
Work hard for the things you love and do them diligently. Only then will you give up trivial thoughts and the need to be approved by others. Focus on the things you worship.
4. You decide about your things
Forget the opinions of others and do not refer to them for your decisions. Do not give others the power to decide for you, as it may cost you dearly.
5. Learn to accept rejection
One of the reasons we constantly seek approval is the fear of rejection. We therefore occasionally justify the behavior of others. Remind yourself that not everyone loves us and chooses us, but above all remind yourself that there is nothing wrong with you even if that happens. Accept rejections and give a lecture to everyone.
