A drawing of a bear by Leonardo da Vinci is expected to fetch more than $ 16 million at an auction.
The drawing, titled "Head of a Bear", will be sold in London by Christie's auction house. The drawing will be shown in New York and Hong Kong before it goes up for auction and is expected to reach $ 11 million and $ 16 million, according to the auction house.
Ben Hall, Christie's New York's senior chair of painting, described the drawing as “one of the most important works of the Renaissance.” He said: centuries, not just from the current owner who has owned it since 2008. ”
The "bear head" measures 7 cm by 7 cm and is drawn on a pale pink paper in beige. He has previously exhibited in museums including the National Gallery in London, where he appeared in 2011 and 2012 as part of an exhibition on Da Vinci.
The drawing will be on display in London from 1 to 6 June before going on sale on 8 July.
