All in black, from shoes to hats, Kate Middleton gave another look to her dress at Prince Philip’s funeral ceremony through the pendant with pearls and diamonds and earrings, while maintaining elegance as always.
Kate chose the queen's jewelry for her solemn attire: pearl earrings and a pearl and diamond pendant, which was previously also used by the late mother-in-law, Lady Diana.
The pendant, which was donated to the queen by the Japanese government, was not a completely random choice.
Kate has previously borrowed the pendant for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Queen and Prince Philip in 2017. Given this event, it is no wonder that Kate chose to honor the Duke of Edinburgh and his special connection to the queen.
The earrings also have meaning, as they were given to the queen by the Hakim of Bahrain as a gift after her marriage to Prince Philip in 1947.
