Lucy Maino, 25, who also served as captain of the Papua New Guinea women's soccer team, faced major online harassment after posting the video doing a twerk on TikTok.
Although videos of this nature are common in the app, Maino's already deleted video was considered by critics to be appropriate for a "model example". The video was downloaded from the private account and shared on social networking platforms and YouTube , where thousands of people criticized Lucy. After the video, she was stripped of her Miss crown.
