Today (March 28th) mass vaccination begins throughout the country. Yesterday evening, the Ministry of Health began preparing near Skenderbej Square by setting up tents which will serve as vaccination centres.
This time the focus will be on the elderly under 80 and teachers and indagogues who will receive the second doses. To speed up the process, the working group will join armed forces nurses.
Parallel to the vaccination centre near the centre of the capital, work will also take place near the Air Albania stadium. Minister Monasteriliu stressed that citizens should wait for the announcement of neighbourhood doctors who will coordinate the programme in reference to the electronic register of residents and persons in need. The Health Ministry's target is to carry out over 10,000 daily vaccinations.
This target group will be injected with the Chinese "Synovac" vaccine, of which about 500,000 doses have been provided.
