During a press conference, the Committee of Experts together with the Minister of Health, Ogerta Manastirliu informed about the situation of Covid-19 in the country.
"The results showed that the samples are infected with the new variant, bearing the mark of the British station. This mutation is the British variant, which is in circulation in 70 countries. The reasonable suspicions that IPH experts had, related to the increase in transmissibility, is confirmed that Albania has in circulation the British version of COVID-19. ”
Although the situation seems to be under control, Manastirliu confirmed that cases with the British version have been confirmed in our country. The director of IPH, Albana Fiço in her speech said that since March 1, there has been a decrease in the number of infections and not only. As for the measures taken, they will continue to be in force until a second notification.
"The situation is under control. There are changes in the two-week incidence, it has decreased. The average number of daily cases has dropped to 819 cases and also active cases have decreased slightly. Despite the numbers that have shown stability, it is not yet time for it. "It is the measures taken that have given this kind of result. On the other hand, we continue to appeal for the maintenance of the mask, hygiene and distance." - said Fiço.
With regard to the measures, the Committee of Experts said that they will remain in force for at least two more weeks.
